The Story of Sud West

It all began with some adventurous spirit. The founder, Amy Johnson, traveled with her husband and then, one-year-old child, to France for his work. For the next five years, they made this trip frequently, and she became inspired by the design of the local Air B&Bs, hotels, and restaurants. Their ability to integrate the timelessness that their history represented while incorporating relevant modern elements is not what was typical back in the States. Because of this influence, she realized the importance of a home isn’t based on which builder constructed it or which Sherwin Williams paint color was used. A home’s value is based on the love and stories of the family that resides.

    Bonjour! I am Amy, the designer behind Sud West. Years ago, I received my degree in Literature, and began my career in retail management with Anthropologie. It was this experience that solidified my love in visual designs, specifically for homes. I was eventually inspired to create Sud West Design from my travels with her family. I found how a unique, well curated home design is based on the family that calls it home and because of that, how a space can tell a story.
